Feed the Father
I recently attended a workshop put on by our Diocese about preaching. Titled "Preaching as Listening," the speaker stressed the importance not only of studying the holy Scriptures, but also of being aware of what's going on around us - both in the news and in the pews. To facilitate this, I invite you to give me some feedback, especially concerning my preaching. I'm not fishing for compliments, but for honest reactions, suggestions, and some insight into what's going on in your life .
Here's some examples of how to begin your feedback:
Father, what did you mean by . . . ?
I like/don't like it when you . . .
Here's what I find challenging in my life right now . . .
I don't understand what the Church says about . . .
What does Jesus mean by . . . ?
I'd like you to say more about . . .
Here's what I find really interesting about our faith . . .
